'The Enchanted Pig' children's opera
'The Enchanted Pig (Hungarian title: Az elvarázsolt disznó) is an opera written by British composer Jonathan Dove, and first played in London in 2006. It is about a fairy tale which is based on ancient Rumanian tale. The opera’s protagonist, the youngest princess (played by Zsóka Vásárhelyi) deliberately opens the Book of Fate and finds out that her husband will be a pig from the North. The prediction seems to come true…

The idea of performing the play in Hungary came from Pál Göttinger, who participated in The Young Vic Theatre’s production as an assistant director (2006, director: John Fulljames). Halastó will provide the entire production staff. With its well comprehensible contemporary style, the performance and its music are suitable for both children and an adult audience.'
